How To Make The Best Chicken Tikka Masala: A Flavorful And Authentic Recipe

Ingredients:
- For the Chicken Marinade:
- 500g boneless chicken, cut into cubes
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 1 tsp ground turmeric
- 1 tsp chili powder
- Salt to taste
- For the Sauce:
- 2 tbsp oil
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 can (400g) chopped tomatoes
- 1 tsp ground coriander
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- Salt to taste
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
- Preparation:
- Marinate the chicken:
- In a bowl, combine curd lemon juice, ginger and garlic powders, garam masala, turmeric, chili powder and salt. Add the chicken cubes and coat evenly. Soak for at least 30 minutes (or overnight for a deeper flavor).
- Noah the chicken:
- Grill or bake the roasted chicken at 200°C for about 15-20 minutes, until cooked to a slightly charred texture.
- Prepare the sauce:
- Heat the oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Add the onion and cook until golden brown. Stir in the ginger and garlic paste and cook for 1 minute.
- Add the chopped tomatoes, coriander, cumin and garam masala. Simmer for 10 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Combine the chicken and sauce:
- Add the fried chicken pieces to the sauce and mix well. Let it simmer for 5-10 minutes. Stir in the heavy cream, and cook for 2 more minutes.
- serve:
- garnished with fresh cilantro. Season with naan or basmati rice.
